Berrey professional photoEllen Berrey is an assistant professor of sociology at the University of Toronto and an affiliated scholar of the American Bar Foundation. Her research examines the crossroads of law, culture, organizations, activism, and inequality. Her first book, The Enigma of Diversity: The Language of Race and the Limits of Racial Justice, a study of diversity discourse and politics in American culture and law, was awarded the 2016 Herbert Jacob book prize from the Law & Society Association.
